Introduction:
Wire grid polarizers can transmit light with an electric field vector perpendicular to the wire grid and reflect light with an electric field vector parallel to the wire grid. This polarizer adopts a sandwich structure, that is, the metal wire grid array layer is protected by UV fused silica windows on both sides. Compared with traditional absorbing polymer polarizers, wire grid polarizers have higher transmittance, higher operating temperature and higher laser damage threshold. It is suitable for high-power continuous laser or ultra-high pulse peak power laser application scenarios. Because the metal wire grid is easily damaged, we protect it with two windows. The surface of the window is coated with T5 (400-1100 nm) anti-reflection film, and the surface of the window can be wiped and cleaned normally. The wire grid will not be damaged by cleaning the surface.
The wire grid polarizer is installed in an aluminum alloy mounting ring with an outer diameter of 25.4 mm and the surface is oxidized and blackened, and the polarization direction of the transmitted light is marked on the ring with a laser. The addition of an aluminum alloy ring can avoid changes in the transmitted wavefront caused by stress introduced by the user when installing the wire grid polarizer. The polarizer can be easily installed in the MMR-1T free rotating mirror frame or the MCRM-1T coaxial rotating mirror frame, which is convenient for users.
