Magnesium fluoride is a white crystalline salt composed of one magnesium ion and two fluoride ions. Magnesium fluoride is transparent over an extremely wide range of wavelengths. Windows, lenses, and prisms made of this material can be used over the entire range of wavelenths from 0.120 mm vacuum (ultraviolet) to 8.0 mm (infrared). MgF2 is tough and works and polishes well. We are able to provide the MgF2 single crystals boules or blanks with maxium diameter 85mm, also provide the custom optics like lens, prisms and windows made from MgF2.
