Lead Tungstate (PbWO4) crystals a novel scintillator which has been adopted as the detect material by several high energy physics devices, e.g., CMS detector in CERN. The crystal is distinguished by its fast decay time, high density and strong radiation hardness. So it may have an extensive application prospect in nuclear medicine. It is also an excellent photoelectric crystal due to its good performance in optical properties and stable physical and chemical features. |
